Hello Kelly has its own theme park

The little Japanese cat is the star at a Tokyo shopping centre.

Hello Kitty fans will be happy to learn that the popular character will have a theme park devoted entirely to it. The park will open on October 22, 2010 in Tokyo, Japan. This loveable cat has become recognizable to children and adults the world over.

Built in a shopping centre in Tokyo, Hello Kitty’s Kawaii Paradise covers 890 square feet. Promoters believe the new site will attract around 700,000 visitors annually.

Located in the city’s Odaiba neighbourhood, the theme park has a show room which will project cartoons of the famous kitty in four different languages. Several stores in the shopping centre also sell a variety of Hello Kitty-themed merchandise.

Tokyo already has a theme park that welcomes a large number of visitors each year. Tokyo Disneyland is a theme park that covers 115 acres and is a real tourist favourite.

Hello Kitty’s Kawaii Paradise organizers hope their new attraction will join the club of successful theme parks in the region.
