Jack White does it again

The White Stripes frontman will work with another country legend.

Blessed with the Midas touch, Jack White, is one of the most prolific people in music today. He is in three different bands and runs his own record label. Now White will produce a new album by rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson.

This is not the first time White has worked with a 1960s country star. He produced the album Van Lear Rose by Loretta Lynn six years ago when she was 70. That album introduced the country legend to a whole new audience and earned her two Grammy awards the following year.

Jack White hopes Wanda Jackson, now 72, will have the same success as Lynn. Jackson’s new album, The Party Ain’t Over, will be released on January 25.

White recruited a mix of artists to work on The Party Ain’t Over. There will be collaborations with Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler from the Raconteurs (one of White’s bands), Jackson Smith (husband of the White Stripes’ Meg Smith and son of Patti Smith), plus Karen Olsen who is Jack White’s wife.

The album will essentially contain covers, including Wanda Jackson’s version of Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good.
