It’s been a long time gone since Crosby, Stills & Nash released new material. The wait is over… CSN is working on a covers album with reputed producer Rick Rubin.
Graham Nash told Billboard.com: "Rick Rubin’s a brilliant man and what he wants is an album with no CSN songs. He wants to do an album of all the songs we love, all the songs we wish we’ve written. It’s brilliant from this point of view because we usually wait five years to record an album. This way there’s no pressure."
Canadian Neil Young will not appear on the album but did cede control of a 1974 live album. Nash explained: "He knows me. He trusts me. He feels I can do this. He will be very involved, of course, because I’m not mixing anything finally until Neil’s heard it and approves – the same with David (Crosby) and Stephen (Stills)."
Rick Rubin worked with Johnny Cash on his acclaimed American Recordings album. No release date was given for the new CSN album.
