Oh no, she didn’t…

City officials in Edmonton, Alberta are upset with Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga headed north of the border last Friday (August 27) for a sold-out show in Edmonton, Alberta. She managed to annoy city officials during her short visit.

Details of the sordid story are as follows: the pop star was chilling during the set-up at Rexall Place. A sign in the arena proclaimed: "This Is Oil Country." Workers were putting the finishing touches on the lighting and a spotlight blacked out the "o" in the word "country". The sign briefly stated: "This Is Oil Cuntry."

Gaga got a kick out of it and snapped a photo. She posted it on her Twitter page with the caption: "Holy mother of laughter."

Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel was not laughing and did not appreciate the city’s image being put on display in this way. He commented: "This is a brash and crude woman…excuse the pun…that doesn’t care who she offends nor what she says, apparently. I never invited her to come here and ‘perform’ if you call it that. We can do without her kind of performance as far as I’m concerned."

The Monster Ball tour rolls on in the United States throughout September. She then returns overseas for several European shows.
