New Green Day concert album

Green Day gives fans the surprise of their lives and records another live concert album.

California punk rockers Green Day will release a new live album, a follow-up to the acclaimed 21st Century Breakdown that came out in 2009.

The band performed in Denver, Colorado on Saturday night (August 28). The crowd went crazy when lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong told them the concert was being recorded for a live album.

He also mentioned that the next song, Cigarettes and Valentines, would appear on that album. That song was supposed to be the title track off Green Day’s follow-up to Warning in 2000.

Green Day was almost finished the album when the master tapes were stolen. So they scrapped that idea and went on to record their Grammy Award-winning album American Idiot.

The last Green Day concert album was the successful Bullet in a Bible that came out in 2005. It featured live versions of many songs off American Idiot and some old hits too.

The band is also in the early stages of working on a new studio album.
