Scissor Sisters lead singer Jake Shears and Lady Gaga met at Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball in June. They chatted about doing a duet in the future. Apparently Gaga has been a fan for a long time.
Lady Gaga gave props to the Scissor Sisters before her debut album was released and she went on to become an internationally-acclaimed pop star.
Gaga told DJ Ron Slomowicz: "Oh, I love them, I can’t breathe. I remember the first time I heard them, it was on the radio, and I was like, ‘who the heck is that?’ They are a big influence. I love the disco, their outfits, and they really care about their performance."
Gaga went on to say: "I’m also a big Elton John fan, and you can hear the influence on every record, so I love them. They were big – I really thought about them when I did Dirty Rich."
The Scissor Sisters released Night Work in June. It is the band’s third studio album and features the single Fire with Fire.
