It’s raining Hendrix

The Hendrix estate will release deluxe reissues this fall.

Jimi Hendrix is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. His death cut short the life of a musical talent that some argue has not been matched to this day.

2010 marks the 40th anniversary of his death; Jimi’s light went out on September 18, 1970. The Hendrix estate unleashed a trip down memory lane earlier this year to honour the late musical genius.

It released four albums, including Valleys of Neptune, an album of previously unreleased material, as well as reissues of Are You Experienced?, Axis: Bold As Love and Electric Ladyland.

Now a second round of reissues is coming in the fall, including Jimi Hendrix: Blues, Live at Woodstock and Jimi Hendrix Experience: BBC Sessions. Now Rolling Stone magazine reports the reissue series will include: "a new four-disc compilation titled West Coast Seattle Boy, a career-spanning set that will feature demos, alternate takes and other previously unreleased recordings."

RS also reports: "Seven ‘official concert bootlegs’ and four albums filled with Hendrix studio demos were also finally released digitally last month."
