No Gaga-Winehouse duet

Lady Gaga will not be lending a hand on Amy Winehouse’s comeback album.

Why, oh why do people listen to tabloid reports? The rumour mill shifted into high gear last week after the National Enquirer reported that Lady Gaga would fly to London to work with Amy Winehouse. Gaga was apparently going to take time out of her busy schedule to help ensure Winehouse makes a successful comeback album.

An Enquirer headline claimed: "Lady Gaga’s reaching out to rescue Brit singer/bad-girl Amy Winehouse." The tabloid then went on to report that Gaga was "generously offering to jump-start Amy’s comeback album by collaborating on a duet track."

Now it’s time to stop the presses and separate fact from fiction. It is true that Amy Winehouse is working on a follow up to her Grammy Award-winning album Back to Black. However, her publicist responded this week to the Gaga report by saying it is "not true at all."

Lady Gaga’s new album is in the can but will not be released until next year. She is presently on the North American leg of the Monster Ball tour. She headlines the Lollapalooza Festival this Friday, August 6 in Chicago.
