Thirteen days behind bars was the magic number for Lindsay Lohan. She was released from her solitary cell early this morning (August 2) and immediately escorted to rehab.
The 24-year old actress began a 90-day jail sentence on July 20 for violating probation in her DUI case. She was released today for good behaviour after serving less than a quarter of her sentence.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore told a throng of reporters outside the Century Regional Detention Facility: "She was released at 1:35 a.m. She has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center. And she will now be under the supervision of the L.A. County probation department. This concludes her custody."
Life under the microscope carries on for Lohan, however. She is now required to spend three months in rehab. People reports the treatment facility is run by the UCLA Medical Center. After that part of her sentence is over, she will be subjected to random drug tests until her probation ends in August 2011.
