A new Michael Jackson record in the works

The producer will start a remastering project on reelased Jackson material.

Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, a producer who worked with Michael Jackson on his 2001 album Invincible, says he’ll soon start reworking Michael Jackson to give them a second life.

The demos in question come from the whole span of Jackson’s career and not just the Invincible album, says Jerkins, who realized a a childhood dream by working with the King of Pop.

"It was a blessing. It was definitely a goal of mine as a kid. When I first wanted to be producer, at 11 years old, on a little piece of paper [I] was like, ‘One day I wanna work with Michael Jackson.’ I just believe that God granted my wish. I had the chance to work with him. We became friends. Of course, we miss him dearly. He was truly the greatest."

Jerkins nevertheless wished to somewhat quell the excitement surrounding his news, explaining that the process of making an album out of the material will be a very long one.

Since Michael Jackson’s death on June 25,  2009, the revenues from his music, promotional merchandise and his concert film This Is It are said to have added nearly one billion dollars to his estate.
