Hero worships Rush

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock stars Canada’s own prog rock kings.

The next instalment in the Guitar Hero franchise stars legendary Canadian rock band Rush. Players will be able to choose a story-based Quest mode that features all songs from the album 2112, originally released in 1976.

Rush frontman Geddy Lee told Rolling Stone magazine: "In our story, the caves of 2112 are where our hero finds the lost guitar. This rediscovery of music is much like the Guitar Hero warriors’ journey to find the Demi-God of Rock’s Legendary guitar, which has been trapped in a cavern."

Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson will narrate the 2112 segment of the game. KISS frontman Gene Simmons will narrate the rest of the story.

Other rock warriors join the quest. Fans can look forward to songs by Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, The Rolling Stones and KISS. Soundgarden is throwing in an unreleased song called Black Rain while Megadeath’s Dave Mustaine offered a new, original track as well.

Activision’s Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock will be available to headbangers everywhere this fall.
