Zac Efron shot to fame and fortune playing high school basketball star Troy Bolton in the High School Musical franchise.
The 22-year old actor is looking to branch out from his teen idol image and has found the right vehicle to make it happen.
Efron launched his own production company in February under the Warner Bros. umbrella called Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions (NRW). The young company now has several projects in development, including Art of the Steal, Einstein Theory, Fire and Snabba Cash.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed: "Warner Bros. has picked up an untitled workplace comedy by Jason Filardi for Zac Efron to star in and produce. Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot are in negotiations to produce via their Offspring Entertainment banner."
Zac Efron can next be seen on the big screen starring in the romantic drama Charlie St. Cloud. That film hits theatres on July 30.
