Female ‘cougars’ do exist

Women in their thirties and forties tend to set their sights on younger men.

It is not a myth. Women in their thirties and forties do have more sexual fantasies and energy and often turn to younger men. So says the journal Peronality and Individual Differences.

According to one study, these women, a.k.a ‘cougars’, do exist. Take these two show biz examples. Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria is married to basketball player Tony Parker who is seven years her junior. The same goes for Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. She is dating Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton who is also seven years younger than her.

Psychologists at the University of Texas at Austin explain that the phenomenon is due to the fact that women in their thirties start to feel their biological ticking. This, in turn, influences their mating behaviour.

Researchers interviewed 900 women about their attitudes toward sex. They found that women between the ages of 27 to 45 have the best sex while women in their late thirties have the most fun.
