Sugar is more harmful than fat

Sugars are particularly harmful to your health.

According to the book Good Calories, Bad Calories by science writer Gary Taubes, sugar is more harmful than fat in your diet.

The HuffingtonPost reports that fats are not the root cause of obesity, cardiovascular disease or chronic diseases as we have long believed. The culprit is sugar.

According to Taubes, carbohydrates affect insulin and the process that maintains the proper internal harmony of the body. We know that sugar increases insulin levels which can often lead to diabetes. But sugar also overloads the liver and may increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, some cancers and other chronic diseases.

70% chocolate is a healthy sugar when eaten in moderation. As for sugars, it is best to stick to fruits and vegetables that contain good carbs.
