George Clooney will be called to testify as a civil plaintiff in a Milan courtroom on July 16. He will appear at the trial of three people who are accused of using his name without permission to create a fashion label.
Clooney’s lawyer confirmed the actor will indeed be present at the hearing. He added the actor will offer testimony against the three individuals who usurped his identity.
The three people accused in this matter will stand trial on charges of fraud, forgery and possession of stolen goods while preparing for a fashion show at a Milan hotel.
Obviously, security will be beefed up on July 16 when Clooney appears in court. The judge hearing the case commented: "There will be a lot of people, I imagine."
George Clooney owns a home in Italy on Lake Como.
In other news, Clooney was enjoying a July 4th fireworks show on his boat with Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, Uma Thurman and other friends when a near tragedy happened. A firework exploded beside the boat on Lake Como and everyone jumped to safety.
