Kenzo for kids

Kenzo unveils its new children’s clothing collection.

To mark its 40th anniversary, Kenzo launched a series of limited edition scarves, bags and t-shirts for women.

This time around, the house unveils its Kenzo Kids capsule collection, available in limited edition for the 2010-11 winter season.

For this capsule collection, the house decided to highlight star pieces from its collections. The 10-piece collection is aimed at children aged 2 to 12.

The style of the new pieces is described as being rich, poetic and flowery. Kenzo offers dresses, knit cardigans and fuchsia and ink-coloured shorts. There’s also a t-shirt with a heart inspired by a woman’s dress from the 80s.

The capsule collection will launch next September and will be available in brand stores.

The Kenzo brand was founded by Kenzo Takada. The first boutique opened in 1970 in the Galerie Vivienne in Paris. A year later, the brand’s collections were introduced in New York and Tokyo.

It has been several years since the label joined LVMH. The luxury group boasts of having a ready-to-wear line for women, men and children, a brand of perfume and cosmetics, as well as a decor brand.

Kenzo has a new creative director now, Antonio Marras, who wants to maintain the spirit of founder Kenzo Takada.
