Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had a whirlwind romance. They seemed like an unlikely couple when they hooked up in 2002. They got engaged and planned to wed in 2003, but called it off at the last minute.
The singer reminisced in her VH1 Behind The Scenes documentary. She revealed: "I don’t think I had ever been heartbroken in that way before… When you go through that kind of heartbreak in front of everybody you are not quite the same person you were before."
She added: "We did fall in love and we were very close. But my relationship with him was always something I knew would end."
Remember the video for Jenny from the Block? Ben Affleck is forever immortalized rubbing suntan lotion on J-Lo’s butt. He wishes he hadn’t agreed to do it but now says: "If I have a big regret, it was doing the music video. But that happened years ago. I’ve moved on."
Jennifer Lopez is now happily hitched to singer Marc Anthony. They have been married for six years. They have 2-year old twins, Max and Emme.
For his part, Ben Affleck has been married to actress Jennifer Garner for five years. They have two daughters, Violet, 5, and Seraphina, 1.
