George Michael busted

The singer is arrested after crashing into a building.

George Michael has a long list of run-ins with the law, ranging from DUI to bawdy bathroom behaviour. The latest trouble falls into the first category.

The 47-year old singer was arrested near his home in London after he crashed his Range Rover into a building last Sunday night (July 4). Police charged him with suspicion of driving under the influence.

He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court in August.

Michael pleaded guilty in 2007 to a drug-related DUI charge and was banned from driving for two years. He was also sentenced to 100 hours community service and ordered to pay a fine. He claimed at the time it was a combination of fatigue and taking prescription drugs.

He was arrested last year after his Land Rover hit a truck on a British highway. He was released without being charged after that 2009 incident.

George Michael gained fame as a member of Wham! in the 80s and moved on to a successful solo career. His string of hit songs includes Faith, Careless Whisper and I Want Your Sex.

In recent years, however, he has gained more attention for his personal life than for his music.
