Santana brings his magic to Canada

The Universal Tone Tour is about to head north of the border.

Carlos Santana kicked off the North American leg of his Universal Tone Tour on June 30.

Canadian fans do not have much longer to wait. The legendary guitarist is set to head north next week, with opening act Steve Winwood in tow.

He has four planned stops in this country, Toronto (July 11), Quebec City (July 13), Ottawa (July 14) and Montreal (July 15).

Carlos Santana is more than just one of the greatest living guitarists. He is also alongtime philanthropist. He is the resident headliner at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He plays around 36 shows a year.

Santana recently received the Community Advocate and Entertainer of the Year award at the In Business Las Vegas 2010 Angel Awards.

As his website explains: "A portion of every ticket sold to his show, Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits is donated to his Milagro Foundation." The foundation, in turn, distributes money to local charities, including one run by tennis star Andre Agassi.

Carlos Santana will return to Sin City for another round of shows at the end of August. He then heads across the pond at the end of September to start the European leg of his tour.
