Jennifer Hudson tells a tragic tale

Jennifer Hudson will publicly share her personal tragedy.

Jennifer Hudson became a member of a club she never asked to join when her mother, brother and young nephew were found murdered in Chicago.

The bodies of Darnell Donerson and her son, Jason, were found in their house in October 2008. The body of 7-year old Julian King was found three days later in an abandoned vehicle.

The American Idol finalist has never spoken publicly about the tragic events and her personal sorrow. She will open up for the first time about this heartbreaking story tonight (June 28) during an appearance on VH1’s Behind the Music.

Everything came crashing down that fateful October day when Hudson learned her ex-brother-in-law had gone on a killing spree. William Balfour pleaded not guilty to first degree murder and home invasion charges.

Drawing from an internal strength many do not possess, Jennifer Hudson picked up the pieces and carried on.

The Oscar winner is now engaged to be married and is the mother of a baby boy, David Jr. She is working on a new album scheduled to drop in the fall. She is also a Weight Watchers spokesperson.
