More than a million votes were counted following a national campaign to select 22 cities to appear on a special Canadian edition of Monopoly. The lucky cities have now been announced.
250 million copies have been sold in 106 countries and in 40 languages. Now there is a special edition devoted to Canada.
This special edition of Monopoly: Canada will include unique cards based on popular events throughout the country like skating on the Rideau Canal and the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The game will be in stores on June 28 and costs around $39.95.
The cities that made the cut are:
Dark blue: Chatham-Kent, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu
Green: Calgary, Sarnia, Edmonton
Yellow: Windsor, Quebec City, Trois-Rivières
Red: Medicine Hat, Gatineau, Shawinigan
Orange: Kawartha Lakes, Chilliwack, Montreal
Purple: Kelowna, North Bay, St. John’s
Light blue: Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver
Brown: Beauceville, Banff
