A source close to the couple confirms that the star’s busy schedule, in addition to preparing for a major British tour, is the cause of this unexpected separation after ten years together.
Lou, a talent scout for Sony Music, decided to end their relationship as he was unable to deal with his girlfriend’s frequent absences any longer.
Rumours began to circulate that their relationship was in trouble when Al-Chamaa stopped going to Lewis’ concerts.
A close friend of the couple said: "Obviously being a long-term relationship, it makes things very complicated and extremely difficult. But they have decided it is best they go their separate ways."
A spokesperson for Lewis offered no comment about this news but, according to some sources, the star is completely devastated by this separation.
Last year, she said in an interview that she was certain she would marry him one day.
