Listen for free to two more Arcade Fire songs

The first two official singles from the group’s upcoming album arrive online.

If there’s anyone who knows how to generate publicity right now, it’s Arcade Fire.

First there was a mysterious announcement about a new album release that appeared on the group’s website. Then excerpts from two songs were added to the site in a unique way. Fans had to use their mouse to manually turn an LP in order to listen to the music.

After that, the group announced its third album, The Suburbs, would be officially released on August 3. With this came the possibility of receiving two songs with an album pre-order.

Arcade Fire recently gave a couple surprise gigs in Sherbrooke, in the parking lot of a Longueuil shopping mall and, finally, in Toronto.

Now the group puts the first two official singles off their album online. Ready to Start is for the North American market and We Used to Wait is destined for the European market.

Fans can listen to the two songs on the Consequence of Sound website.
