The famous Muppets will be back in theatres in December 2011.

The characters from the Muppets will return in a new film out during Christmas 2011.

James Bobin will direct the new adventures of Kermit and friends. Jason Segel and Nick Stoller will write the script. Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man) will also play a human character in the film.

Walt Disney Pictures announced that the film will be released on Christmas Day, 2011, but no other details are available.
