Singer and mother Christina Aguilera admits that despite all her excitement at releasing a new album, Bionic, getting back to work requires sacrifices, People reports.
The 29-year old star said: "The toughest part is the schedule — balancing that between being a mommy and being able to still concentrate and focus on the work."
Aguilera went on to say: "I’ll go and tuck my son in at night and sing him to sleep [with] a lullaby, and then I go in the studio and sing. It’s definitely a challenge and a balancing act, but one that I take on. I wouldn’t have it any other way."
The singer has one son, 2-year old Max Liron, with her husband Jordan Bratman.
Christina Aguilera’s new album Bionic hits stores today (June 8).
Aguilera’s release of a new video for her song Not Myself Tonight unleashed a wave of controversy. People insinuated she was copying the style of the current pop queen of the moment, Lady Gaga. Gaga has become a point of reference these days in the video world.
Aguilera was accused of a comeback that lacks originality by choosing the same style as Lady Gaga. However, Christina Aguilera fought back by explaining that her video was a tribute to Madonna. She said she has always been inspired by the original Queen of Pop.
