Aerosmith announces a bunch of North American shows

Toronto is the only Canadian stop on the tour so far.

On the verge of imploding just six months ago, it appears Aerosmith will stage its comeback in North America. The group just announced a round of concert dates for this summer. The group, originally from Boston, will make one sole stop north of the border at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on August 17.

Steven Tyler and the rest of the band have been living out some strange times in the public eye. The saga began when lead singer and frontman Tyler announced he was going to take a two-year break and head to rehab. At one point, he showed up uninvited to a Joe Perry show and sang Walk This Way leaving his bandmate and the Aerosmith guitarist dumbfounded and unsure of how to react. The rest of the band even announced they were holding auditions to find a replacement lead singer.

The saga seemed to be over when the group, Tyler included, released a playful online video announcing that they would regroup to tour this summer. They talked about shows already booked in South America and in Europe.

The American leg of Aerosmith’s Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock tour kicks off in Oakland, California on July 23 and wraps up in Uncasville, Connecticut on September 4. That’s located about half-way between New York and their hometown of Boston.
