Arcade Fire wants to go south

The Montreal group will perform in the States this summer.

Arcade Fire is about to make a major return to the spotlight with the upcoming release of its third studio album, The Suburbs, on August 3.

The band just announced a series of concerts in the United States to promote their new work. These concerts are added to two gigs already announced in Sherbrooke, Quebec. They will perform at the 1,200-seat Granada Theatre.

In addition to an appearance at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Arcade Fire will play some of its new songs at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York. They are also scheduled to pass through Philadelphia, Atlanta, Washington, Boston and Nashville.

North of the border, Toronto has been added to the itinerary, in addition to shows already announced at festivals in Quebec City, Montreal and Ottawa.

Many of the new shows have not yet been added to the Arcade Fire website. According to the rumours going round, it is only a matter of time before these shows are added, as well as others. It is also likely the group will head further west in the United States than Nashville, Tennessee.
