According to the Bloody Disgusting website, Christian Bale is in talks to star in the film The Revenant.
The project was supposed to go ahead a few years ago with Samuel L. Jackson in the lead role and Park Chan-wook (Oldboy) directing. That project never got off the ground.
This time around, it would be Christian Bale in the starring role with John Hillcoat (The Road) directing.
The actor would play a frontiersman left for dead on the banks of the Mississippi after being attacked by a bear. He seeks revenge against the two men who abandoned him.
Mark L. Smith (The Hole, Vacancy) will write the screenplay inspired by the novel by Michael Punke.
In other movie news, Christian Bale will soon start work on Batman 3 which is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012. In the meantime, he stars alongside Amy Adams and Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter coming out on November 26.
