Ray-Ban relaunches the iconic Aviator

Ray-Ban launches six new looks for its iconic Aviator sunglasses.

Coco Perez reports the Ray-Ban eyewear brand is launching new looks for its classic Aviator model.

Ray-Ban will launch six new models in all, including Ray-Ban Craft, Road Spirit, Tech, Titanium, Metal Glide, and the limited edition Ultra Gold.

The head of the company says the aim was to establish a new enthusiasm for the brand and continue to interact with customers.

He says, "Lifestyle trends continue to take [inspiration] from old looks [and] 2010, more than ever, is the right year to relaunch the Aviator."

The new Aviator models will be available in June, just in time for summer.

Last January, the brand launched a new model of chic and retro glasses decorated with 18 carat white gold. Dubbed the Ultra-Wayfarer, there are only 7,000 copies of this frame in existence worldwide.

Ray-Bans were originally designed for U.S. Air Force pilots during World War II. The sunglasses are renowned for their signature extra-light frames and special lenses that absorb UV and infrared rays.
