New music from both sides of the border

Céline Dion releases her Taking Chances World Tour concert on DVD and CD.

The big release this week is without a doubt Céline Dion’s concert album. Taking Chances World Tour: The Concert consists of a DVD and CD. There are a no fewer than 25 songs included, some of which are grouped in medleys. On the DVD side, fans will also find the documentary Celine: Through the Eyes of the World.

In Canada, the eagerly awaited Oh La La by the Crash Test Dummies is now on shelves. This is the first album by the band since 2005. They recorded this one using children’s musical instruments from the 1970s. We’ll see if the public appreciates the sound.

On the alt music side, The National’s new album, Violet, is garnering some attention as is Night Train by Keane.

There’s some special editions out today courtesy of some favourites from south of the border. Bon Jovi released a special edition of its first 10 albums. Paul McCartney also released a special edition of his NYC concert called Good Evening New York City.

Judas Priest reissued British Steel: 30th Anniversary Edition and La Roux dropped an EP of remixed versions of the duo’s big success, Bulletproof.
