Americans are more open but less fulfilled

Americans 45-years and older are less sexually fulfilled than they were ten years ago.

It seems that Americans had a more satisfying sex life ten years ago,, but were less open-minded.

In 1999, 41% disapproved of premarital sex while only 22% disapprove today.

Americans aged 45 and older have less frequent and less satisfying sexual relations now and this is due to the economic crisis. Financial concerns do not seem to have affected only portfolios and projects, but also sexual activities. So says a survey of 1670 people by the American Association of Retirees.

Today, 28% say they have sex at least once a week and 40% do it at least once a month. This is down 10 points in each timeframe compared with ten years ago. Before, 51% said they were satisfied with their love life and now only 43% say that today.

The study also reveals that people who are not married to their partner have a more active and satisfying sex life than married couples.

As we age, men still think of sex more often than women and they are twice as likely to admit having sex with other partners.
