Taylor Swift supports her hometown

Taylor Swift makes a generous donation to help victims of Nashville floods.

According to MTV, country singer Taylor Swift has decided to help residents of her hometown, Nashville, to repair their damaged houses after a flood ravaged the city this week.
 
Swift announced that she would make a donation of $500,000 US to victims of the floods during the Flood Relief with Vince Gill telethon, organized by a local TV station. During the telethon’s special broadcast, in which the singer made a special appearance via satellite from her tour in Des Moines, Iowa.
 
"Nashville is my home, and the reason why I get to do what I love," she said. "I have always been proud to be a Nashvillian, but especially now, seeing the love that runs through this city when there are people in crisis."
 
The singer seemed very affected by this disaster that hit her hometown. At the beginning of the week, she told E! News: "Right now Nashville is under water. We had the worst storm in 35 years, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. A lot of people back home are not doing well."
 
Swift isn’t the only Nashville star to offer help to the flooded region. Ke$ha, another singer who grew up in Nashville, announced a benefit concert on June 16th at the Limelight in Nashville.
