Usher admits he is relieved his mother is no longer managing his career. Orange News reports the singer needs her moral support in his personal life.
The R&B singer ended his 15-year professional association with his mother, Jonnetta Patton, in 2008. After rekindling their family bond, they mutually agreed to end their business relationship.
Today, Usher is convinced this decision was best for everybody because they now share a more normal mother-son relationship.
He says, "I can have many managers, but I can only have one mother."
He added that he can now confide in his mother about his personal life. He got divorced last November from his wife, Tameka Foster. She’s the mother of his two son, Raymond V, 2, and Ely Naviyd Raymond, 1.
The couple got married in 2007 but separated last year. Divorce papers were filed soon after. The star stated at the time that their union was irretrievably broken and there was no hope of reconciling.
