Vuitton recruits Pelé, Zidane and Maradona

Louis Vuitton calls on three soccer legends for its new ad campaign.

Just weeks before the start of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Louis Vuitton brings together three legendary footballers for a new ad campaign.

The fashion brand invited Pelé, Zinedine Zidane and Diego Maradona to the Maravillas café in Madrid to play a game of foosball.

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz shot the friendly game between these three renowned athletes for Louis Vuitton’s ad campaign called Three exceptional journeys, one historic game.

The story goes that Diego Maradona was four hours late to the shoot. He was photoshopped into pics afterwards. The video ad features Pelé and Zidane playing foosball. Maradona then asks viewers who they think will win the game.

The video can be seen here: louisvuittonjourneys.com/legends/. Fans are invited to vote online for their favourite player.

The outcome of the game will be revealed on May 17.

Louis Vuitton marketing director Antoine Arbault commented: "We wanted the ‘Holy Trinity’ of football. Three players who changed this sport and, furthermore, have transcended it. All three brought the World Cup to their country. They are true legends."
