I just want to be me

Lily Allen is sick and tired of her pop star persona.

Singer Lily Allen says her pop star image is just a character she "has no control over."

The British star explains that people constantly assume her songs are reflections of her life.

She states, "I’ve had enough of being me. I’ve had enough of being Lily Allen, I want to be me now. Whatever situation I’m in, whether it’s going to the supermarket, the pub or a club, or in the back of a cab, people think they know me. And the reality is they don’t. Lily Allen is a character I have no control over. I’ve got nothing to do with it except my face is the one that goes with it."

Allen says she wants to throw away the character and just be herself.

The singer decided to take some time off from the world of music following the success of her second album, It’s Not Me, It’s You. She plans to branch out and launch her own record label as well as a clothing rental store.
