Elton John will try again

The singer is not giving up on his plan to become a father.

Orange News reports that singer Elton John shunned the idea of becoming a parent for years because he thought he was too old to look after a little one.

The singer had a change of heart about after he started looking into adoption. He told himself: "You know what Elton, you’re not too old. You’re still very young at heart. You’ve done everything you possibly can in your career, the only thing you haven’t done is be a good parent.’"

The 63-year old star and his husband, Canadian David Furnish, decided to expand their family through adoption last year. They were extremely disappointed when their application to adopt a 14-month old Ukrainian boy with HIV was rejected.

At the time, John was told he was too old to adopt in that country and the couple also learned that the Ukraine does not accept applications from same sex couples.

The star and his partner refuse to let that setback derail their dream of becoming parents. Elton John said he believed his life with David Furnish would be complete with a child.

He shared: "I think that life’s all about learning; trying to learn a little bit more, change a little bit more, and I think a child would be the icing on the cake."
