Last February, Candie’s launched a new ad campaign starring singer Britney Spears. She is the face of the brand for the second consecutive year.
When Spears shot the campaign, she commented: "I had so much fun shooting the Candies for Kohl’s campaign. My favorite set-up was against the gigantic wall of pink cotton candy."
Now that the Spring/Summer 2010 campaign is launched, the singer decided to show off her imperfections. She wanted to highlight the pressure that women are under to look perfect. She released the untouched version of that pink wall photo for people to compare it with the touched up version.
The singer is posing in a pink bathing suit. You can see some differences between the two, notably her thighs and waist are smaller in the final ad. As well, some blemishes were removed from her calves.
A source says, "Britney is proud of her body – imperfections and all."
Britney Spears was photographed by three of the best in the world for Candie’s Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign. Photogs Annie Leibovitz, Mark Seliger and Terry Richardson each took a turn photographing the star in a different setting.
Spears is not the only celebrity to show off what she really looks like. A few weeks ago, Jessica Simpson posed for the cover of Marie Claire magazine without any makeup or hair styling.
