According to Production Weekly, Colin Farrell is in talks to play the role of Marcus in the rom-com Something Borrowed.
It is based on the novel of the same name by Emily Giffin that came out in 2005. Something Borrowed tells the story of a young Manhattan lawyer who gets drunk on her 30th birthday and sleeps with Dexter (Colin Egglesfield). He just happens to be the fiancé of her selfish best friend, Darcy (Kate Hudson). Goodwin has to choose between her best friend or the guy.
Colin Farrell would play Marcus, Dexter’s best friend. Actor John Krasinski will play Ethan, the young lawyer’s confidante since high school.
There is also talk of a second follow-up movie even before the first is made. Something Blue is a novel written by the same author.
Shooting begins later this month in the Hamptons.
Colin Farrell is also starring in a film called London Boulevard with Keira Knightley. No release date has been given. He also shares the screen with Mark Strong, Ed Harris and Saoirse Ronan in The Way Back coming out this year.
