Bon Jovi opens digital doors

Part of Bon Jovi’s concert in Dallas will be streamed live on the band’s website.

It looks like U2 started a new trend when the band streamed its concert in Pasadena live online last October 25. Now more and more groups are following suit.

Bon Jovi announced its plans this week to stream one of its concerts live for fans. On the band’s website, a press release says, "Fans worldwide can tune in and rock out along with the group and their sold-out Texas audience, courtesy of a webcast powered by Ustream, the leader in live video. Along with four, live, streaming songs, this free concert webcast will also feature a special pre-taped concert reel that includes exciting footage of Kid Rock joining Bon Jovi on stage in Detroit, plus numerous Bon Jovi TV episodes."

Kid Rock is the artist opening for Bon Jovi on several dates during The Circle Tour this summer. That includes four stops in Canada. The press release also says: "Kid Rock will appear at … Rogers Centre in Toronto, ON; Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg, MB; Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, AB and Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field in Regina, SK."

The Sunday streamed show will be available to online fans on the band’s website (bonjovi.com) starting at 9pm EST.
