Lady Gaga chose Montreal to kick off her Monster Ball tour on November 27, 2009. At the time, critics remarked that the tour had a lot of wrinkles to iron out. They knew that Gaga had not spent a lot of time preparing for this new tour.
This thrown together tour was not completely Lady Gaga’s fault. She was supposed to start one with Kanye West. But then he became persona non grata in the span of 10 seconds after infamously grabbing that microphone away from Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Awards. Gaga wisely ended their collaboration.
At the same time, Lady Gaga’s success was growing at light speed and she wanted to hit the road as soon as possible. There was a real adjustment period as the tour began.
Now fans in North America will witness a well-run, fine-tuned show. She starts this leg of her tour on June 28 in Montreal.
The Monster Ball tour will stop two nights in Toronto (July 11, 12), two nights in Vancouver (August 23, 24) as well one show in Edmonton (August 26).
The tour wraps up September 19 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The singer could very well add more dates as well.
Lady Gaga is also one of the headliners at this year’s Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 6-8. No announcement has been made as to which specific night she will perform.
