Welcome to Slash’s first solo album

Fans can listen to Slash’s new solo album online for free.

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has a new album hitting stores on May 10. His first solo work features a who’s who of rock royalty as invited guests. Now the super cool rocker is letting fans listen to his new album for free on the AOL website.

The first song, Ghost, features singer Ian Astbury from The Cult. Slash shares guitar duties with his former Guns N’ Roses bandmate Izzy Stradlin. Crucify the Dead features none other than the vocals of Ozzy Osbourne.

The list goes on and on. There’s Fergie doing a surprisingly amazing rock performance of Beautiful Dangerous. There are 14 songs in total with others featuring the talents of Chris Cornell, Iggy Pop, Dave Grohl and Kid Rock, among others.

Slash says, "I really wanted to see what I was capable of on my own. And I needed to do something on my own because the politics of being in a band…after a while, finally, I just reached that place where I said, I gotta do something by myself for a minute."

He also sends out props to artists who contributed to his album, The old-school guys that I’ve known for a long time and that I’m a huge fan of — Ozzy, Lemmy, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper — I think that’s sort of what helped give me enough confidence to make the rest of the record."
