The upcoming release of a singles collection by Oasis really signals the death knell for this British group. The Gallagher brothers always said they did not like the greatest hits formula, the idea of releasing a greatest hits album while a group was still active.
The album Time Flies 1994 – 2009 will drop June 14. It features all the band’s singles released over this 15-year period. That comes out to 26 songs, 8 of which reached first place on the British charts.
The deluxe version includes all 36 videos ever made (including UK and American versions) as well as the last show Oasis ever recorded at the Roundhouse in London on July 21, 2009. This was a little over a month before that fateful quarrel between the Gallagher brothers that finally sealed the group’s fate.
