Mary J. Blige plays the diva

Festival organizers in Miami will not be asking Mary J. Blige back.

Daily News reports that singer Mary J. Blige was acting too big for her britches at the Jazz in the Gardens Festival in Miami last weekend.

Organizers complain the singer brought way too much drama and attitude as she arrived to perform at the festival.

A source says, "While she sat in her limousine, her personal guards came into the press tent to clear out the area like they were the Secret Service. They first demanded that all print and online journalists be kicked out because Mary didn’t want to take questions. They were acting like she was Michelle Obama or Queen Elizabeth."

When the guards had finished, Blige asked them to return a second time and force the remaining journalists to stay at least ten feet away from her.

When she finally got out of her limo and entered the tent, she wore dark sunglasses and stayed only two minutes. She then left without saying a single word.

The source adds, "Her antics were extreme and unwarranted."

The biggest insult was that Blige made 40,000 spectators wait 90 minutes before she started her set.

Organizers did get positive feedback about other artists who performed at the festival, like Robin Thicke. They vow that Mary J. Blige will not be receiving a repeat invitation.
