New Green Day album in the works

The Californian trio have started working on a follow-up to 21st Century Breakdown.

Green Day has started working on a new album just before they head out on tour in May. It will be a follow-up to the band’s incredibly successful albums 21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot.

Since five years elapsed between the release of those two albums, Green Day vowed to quickly start working on a new one after 21st Century Breakdown came out.

In an interview with Kerrang! magazine, singer Billie Joe Armstrong said the group was keeping its promise and getting down to business. He said, "We did some demos in Berlin, some in Stockholm, some just outside of Glasgow and some in Amsterdam. We wanted to get (the new songs) down in some early form."

The guys from Green Day also worked with Rock Band game designers to get ready for the release of Green Day: Rock Band.
