McCartney will headline some festivals

Paul McCartney is heading out on the festival circuit this summer.

Sir Paul McCartney is 67 years old and richer than the queen. He could just sit back and take it easy from here on out but has no desire to quit what he loves most – performing.

He has performed sparingly over the last few years. Now he is increasing the pace in 2010. Instead of individual shows, he is now talking about mini-tours. And he also just confirmed his presence at some festivals.

The announcement of all these shows should be good news. But some people believe the Up and Coming tour will be Sir Paul’s farewell tour even if the man in question refuses to confirm the rumour.

McCartney will perform at the Isle of Wight Festival and at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London’s Hyde Park. He also announced shows at Hampden Park in Glasgow, the RDS in Dublin and at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. This will be his first show in Wales in 31 years.

The superstar said, "It’s always brilliant to play for the home crowd and these dates are ones that me and the band are really excited about."
