Thom Yorke introduces 3 new ones

The Radiohead singer plays new material for the Green Party.

Radiohead singer Thom Yorke is a well-known environmental activist. He performed in Cambridge last night (February 25) in support of British Green Party candidate Tony Jupiter. He used the occasion to unveil three new songs to the public.

The singer has never gotten involved in politics before but accepted an invitation to perform at a Green Party event.

He said, "I am sick of politicians not talking about green issues. What f—— blows my mind is that half the country is supporting environmental issues, yet we are not represented in Parliament and the chance for that to change has got to happen."

Thom Yorke played The Daily Mail, a song about the British right-wing paper featuring the phrase "No regard for human life."

He also unveiled Give Up the Ghost, a song marked by a haunting vocal loop repeating "Don’t hold me".

The third new song to debut was Mouse Dog Bird, a very folky track.

The singer performed a 19-song set at the event. He played some Radiohead favourites like Airbag and Pyramid Song but mostly stuck to songs from his first solo album, Eraser.
