Daltrey wants to work with Page

The Who singer wants to record a blues album with the Led Zeppelin guitarist.

The Who singer Roger Daltrey recently rocked the house during the Super Bowl half-time show. He now says he wants to collaborate with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.

In an interview with BBC 6 Music, Daltrey talked about what he had in mind. "I’d love to do something, I’d love to do an album with Jimmy Page. He needs a singer to drive him. I’m a great blues singer. I don’t sing the blues with the Who, but that’s what I used to be before Townshend started writing. I used to be a great blues singer."

Led Zeppelin’s music always had strong blues influences. Jimmy Page’s original sound on guitar is one of the reasons the group shot to stardom in the 1970s.

Jimmy Page recently revealed that he is working on new material. He was quoted as saying, "The most important thing for me to make some new music. I know how to do it and that’s what I’m going to do."
