Billie Joe will honour Hall of Famers

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and Wyclef Jean are invited to induct artists into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony welcoming artists into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame takes place next month. We now know who will be opening the door for each recipient.

Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, Wyclef Jean, Trey Anastasio from Phish, the two remaining Gibb brothers from the Bee Gees and Steve Van Zandt from the E Street Band will be present at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York on March 15. They will welcome Abba, The Stooges, Jimmy Cliff and The Hollies.

Among the inductees, it is no surprise that Billie Joe Armstrong will induct The Stooges and that the Bee Gees will induct ABBA. Wyclef Jean will induct Jimmy Cliff and Trey Anastasio will induct Genesis, without Peter Gabriel. He is too busy to attend the event.

Jackson Brown is being inducted by David Geffen. Geffen founded his record company, Asylum Records, in 1970 and released Brown’s first album.

The inductees were chosen by the 500 voters of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.
