McCartney returns to Hollywood Bowl

Paul McCartney will play the Hollywood Bowl, 45 years after a legendary concert.

Paul McCartney has announced dates for a North American tour this summer. One of the stops on the way has special meaning for the ex-Beatle.

Sir Paul has booked a show at the mythical Hollywood Bowl in California on his Up and Coming mini-tour. It was here where the Beatles played one of their most memorable shows in 1964 at the height of Beatlemania.

The recorded performance became the album, The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl, released in 1977. The group returned to play there the following year in 1965.

McCartney will play there again 45 years after that first concert. He promises to play some old fan favourites that have never been performed on American soil. He did not specify which ones.

The first show on the Up and Coming tour takes place March 28 in Glendale, Arizona. His show at the legendary Hollywood Bowl will be two days later.

McCartney plans to announce more shows soon.
