28-year old singer Beyoncé Knowles has earned the most Gold and Platinum award achievements in the last ten years.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) just released a tally of the decade’s highest Gold and Platinum award achievements between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2009.
At the tender age of 18, Beyoncé won the first of her 64 certifications as a member of the popular trio Destiny’s Child. The 64 gold certifications include DVD and video sales.
The RIAA also calculates the number of cell phone ringtones that have been downloaded. Beyoncé can add 19 ringtone certifications to the other 64 gold certifications.
Among groups, The Eagles led the last decade with 48 gold records, while the late Michael Jackson is at the top of the men’s list with 44 gold certifications.
